ST MARIA’S CATHEDRAL OF ASTORGA

• The cathedral dedicated to Santa María dates back to the 3rd century, but the current building began to be construct in the 15th century on the top of some remains of the Romanesque period following a Gothic style and characteristics of other artistic movements such as the Renaissance or the Baroque. In 1954 the Cathedral Museum was founded, which contains a total of 533 religious works of great artistic value.
